Hello, wondered if any of you could help us out. Our 11 week old DD has been a really good sleeper from birth day and night. Naps in arms or sling, and safe co-sleeping at night (following lullaby trust recommendations). Shes always fell asleep at the breast or in the sling, or with rocking in arms, and would then go down next to me and sleep well. Waking once or twice in the night. I am happy with all of this!
Since her first vaccinations which she had at 9 weeks due to the surgery being so busy, she is getting really over tired in the day. She doesn't drop off to sleep like she used to, and it's a real effort now to get her sleeping in the day and at night. Once shes in a deep sleep shes fine, but it's the getting there. I think I was missing early tiredness cues. This week I've watched really closely for early tiredness signs and have got her in the sling straight away and walked around, and within 5-10mins shes been asleep and stayed asleep for 2-3 hours as is usual for her daytime naps.
Night time is a totally different situation. Last night was the worst - DH and I were 3 hours trying to get her to go to sleep next to me. I tried feeding her laying down as I usually do, but she wakes and flails her arms and shouts/cries. We tried sling and rocking in arms, but again just shouting and unsettled. All the time she is showing tired cues. Eventually she fell asleep in husbands arms and he placed her next to me asleep but she woke within 10 mins flailing again. Repeat x 3 and she was finally asleep then woke just once in the night as usual.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong - I started bedtime with early cues and she was calm and nearly fell asleep but just couldn't and then it escalated. I hate hearing her shout and complain, I feel like a crap mother this morning. Shes been such an easy chilled baby until now, I just need some pointers.
Just in case its mentioned, I'm not interested in CC or CIO.
Thanks
