karvol or viva plug ins , absoltuely amazing invention , 1st one from large tescos & 2nd form boots. They are fantastic , as I find the drops just dont give off scent after a couple of hours and dont have enough vapour to clear sinuses. I cant do withought them myself either for colds !!!

Karvol's done wonders for my ds in the last 2 weeks

Another vote for Viva plug ins - I've used them for me too - great stuff.

Sainsburys used to do a breathe-clear baby bubble bath which was great just before bedtime. Green bottle - not sure if it's still around - I had to really search for it last year.

Angeliz · 15/09/2004 09:51

i was looking for that bubblebath a few days ago and couldn't find it anymore

Another vote for Karvol and wet towel on radiator.
Hope she feels better soon+

I use olbas oil on a tissue but out of their reach.

I have been known to put a couple of drops on the cot bumper - but will probably get told off for that now!

Use the Karvol in the bathroom when you bath her as well. It mixes with the steam

Put a pillow under the head end of the cot mattress to lift it up.

Nikkichik · 15/09/2004 11:09

Karvol do cloth patches that you can stick on the front of their sleepsuit/pjs - not too strong but last all night. Don't forget to taken the patch off before you stick the pjs in the washing machine!!!!

We use a vaporiser (plug in one from Boots) . The little pads of menthol stuff do last all night. Helps DS no end.

EvesMama · 21/09/2004 21:03

can buy dummies than you can put menthol/vicks into (think it must go in casing on outside of dummy, under babies nose?)sister in law is ordering me one of the internet(if you need details i will ring her?.
tip if you dont have plug ins - put dollop of vicks/snuffle babe in bowl and add a little boiling water - excellent for my 16 month old.
good luck

EvesMama · 22/09/2004 21:47

could do with those dummies tonight! dd has been full all day, nose running, crying, clinging to me! isnt it awful, as when you go to docs its 'just a virus' and you cant do anything about it! have been topping her up with tixylix and baby neorofen(more back teeth!)poor darling
