2 1/2 year old not sleeping in new bed!

So our DS was referred for speech and language therapy as he is taking a little bit longer to develop his speech. We decided last week to stop his dummy as he only had it for sleep and never in the day and the HV said this could impact his speech. After 2 night of no dummy he decides to keep throwing himself out of his cot so we have now had to put him into a big boy bed, so much has changed in a week for him so he is taking ages to settle and has been screaming when he goes to bed and also waking at half 4 every morning and a couple of times in the night! Hes happy to play on his bed with his toys and tuck them in during the day but is not so keen at night. Hes always been a great sleeper but not at the moment. Anyone else have any advice or tips that could help us settle him?

No advice here unfortunately, but lots of sympathy. We've just done night 2 of dummy detox with our 4 year old, ( I know he's way too old but this was a long time coming.) It's been absolut hell so far, DS won't settle atall, good luck.

I know it's so tough listening to him every night but it has to be done at some point like you say. Hopefully it's not going to last too long and we can all get some sleep! I hope your LO settles soon as it is not easy, the dummy is a blessing and a curse!
