Movement monitor - Angelcare, any good?

Just wondering what peoples opinions are on these? My little one is 7 weeks old, she has been good at going down in her crib after feeds but for some reason since about 4 weeks she’s changed her mind. She’s been very congested for about 2 weeks which has resulted in her sleeping on my chest while I sit upright in bed, she won’t nap in the day so is getting super overtired, hates pram and carseat so not an option to get her to sleep - i’m tearing my hair out.
I ask about the monitors as she will settle on her tummy, obviously it’s against all guidlines but i’m not sure what other options are?
If I use a monitor and let her sleep on her belly will this reduce the risk of SIDS by alerting me?
I’ve heard mixed reviews - thanks

Movement monitors aren't shown to reduce SIDS. Have you tried saline nasal spray, nasal aspirator, etc

Sorry I meant in the sense that it would alert me if she stopped breathing, yes nasal aspirator nothing seems to come out, was prescribed saline drops about a week ago but no better. She is super fussy but no signs of a cold as such?
I was thinking of taking her back to docs

Loved mine. Very reassuring.

Sorry you are having a hard time. I don't think I would have put my baby on the front to sleep at that age. Have you tried remedies the PP suggested? Are you swaddling? My baby struggled for daytime sleep without swaddling but napped well when we realised.

LJSY · 04/06/2019 11:54

Sorry what is PP?

Yes we do swaddle, sometimes it helps sometimes she just can’t wait to get out of it. Can’t seem to get her down for daytime naps at all. Really struggling in the evenings. She seems to get over tired and even if she’s in what seems like a deep sleep she just wakes up once she touches the crib :( thanks for your advice

I used the angelcare with dd and it gave me peace of mind. They say it can't prevent sids but if it goes off when they stop breathing then at least you know something is wrong and gives you chance to get help. I loved hearing the little blip blip noise as it reassured me that she was ok.

I can't advise on the monitor, but have you tried a sling for daytime naps? It will keep her upright to help with the congestion, and she'll have the comfort of being close to you.

Have you considered reflux or allergies?

LJSY · 04/06/2019 15:26

Yes we do use a sling and she settles in it really well. Thank you

No I hadn’t really given much thought to this. Would she need to be tested? She’s breast fed xx
