Sleep worries

Hi. I realise its normal to worry about everything, but our newborn baby (12 days) is not sleeping much. She sleeps for up to 2.5 hours at a time, but yesterday, when we made a chart, she slept for 11 hours out of 24. All the current info suggests that it should be 16 upwards. Is this normal?

There is no such thing as a normal baby.
Your daughter will sleep for as long as she needs and no more.
11 hours sounds like plenty.
If she sleeps for 2.5 hours at a time and then wakes for a feed, that would be perfectly normal. Some babies wake every hour.
Please don't worry, just trust her to sleep, wake and feed as much as she needs to when she needs to.
At such an early stage all you can do is follow her lead and be there for her. She'll find her own routine of some kind.
Good luck with it and enjoy the newest member of your family.
Congratulations!!!

Babies often dont conform to charts and guidelines. If your baby is happy and alert then I wouldnt worry.
