Afternoon all,

My 1 yr old has slept very well since around 8 weeks to 1 yr. Been lucky to place her in cot and she babbles has a small whinge then slept pretty well till morning (she has a dummy for sleep only).

Recently started nursery , and we now cannot leave the room without her getting hysterical at night, we stand watching shusing until she sleeps then sneak out (can take 1-2hours). She then wakes again around 2am and wouldnt settle & sleep untill 5am today for example just crying. We try to clam her without picking her up and were hoping to try the "Withdrawl training" but we cant even settle her to get away from her!

I want to look at trying pick up and put down, (dont want to do controlled crying) as soon as we pick her she settles in seconds, but we put her down and shes kicking crying before she hits the mattress unless shes asleep.

Please can someone that has successfully used this method link to where they got the info from and give any tips? We eventually want to turn into the withdrawal and slowly leave her room again. Its all come as a bit of shock after being so lucky (most nights) to just put her down and walk out for the last year! Any advice welcome?

Thanks

Hi I have just started using shhh pat technique after reading 3 sleep training books and watching countless videos on YouTube. One of the videos from a sleep trainer called Lucy Shrimpton said that pick up put down only works when baby is less than 4 months old.
My baby is 9 months and responding well to the shhh pat technique (I'm only on night 3 but hope it continues).
