Sleep Training

Baby is 9 months, since 4 months she has been waking every 30mins and needed to be BF to sleep. We tried co-sleeping which allowed me to get some sleep but it's no longer working.

I started gentle sleep training on Monday (shhh pat technique). It actually worked so much better than I expected, she still woke every 30 mins but every time she went back to sleep with the technique.

However, I got literally no sleep because as soon as I would start to drift off she would wake.

Felt like a zombie all day but needed to keep going so tried again last night and the same happened again and I gave in at 3am as I needed to sleep.

Feeling so disappointed in myself that I couldn't do it and all that distress I put my DD through was wasted and if I do try again she now knows that I will give I eventually.

I don't know whether to abandon it or try again tonight. I wonder if she is always going to wake at 30minutes? Has anyone been through similar?

How did it go last night? We did similar sleep training and it did work for us. It's so hard however when they cry, and you must be exhausted!

Hi @Readytogogogo thanks for replying. I tried again the next night (wed) and she slept the best she has in months she did two stints of 3 hours (miracle). Thought I'd cracked it but took a few steps back last night and she woke pretty much every hour.

Tonight is ok so far but somehow I can't get to sleep...
