Baby Sleeping in pram overnight

We are off on holiday in a few weeks and I am trying to figure out where our then 16 week old can sleep. We do have a travel cot but it is quite low so I may have difficulties putting her down in it and pcking her up.

One idea is for her to sleep in her pram bassinet overnight or to buy one of those pop up travel cots like a koo-di. Are either of these ideas recommended for a week or should they be for supervised naps only?

Pushchairs should only be for naps really.

We brought a pop up tent I think it was less than £30! And it was great, folded to nothing, we packed it in our luggage for when we were going to Tokyo.

Where are you staying? Could you arrange a Moses basket to be delivered there?

The pram carrycot should be fine, just check the manufacturer guidelines and it should say if it's suitable for overnight sleeping or not. We've used ours (bugaboo) for 3/4 nights when staying with in laws

Depends on the pram- some bassinets (like icandy's iirc) are certified safe for overnight sleeping, others like the Fox I've just ordered are only for daytime supervised naps. Check with the pram manufacturer.

We had a pretty with a carrycot that was safe for overnight sleeping, so some are safe Hmm

She doesn't quite fit in her moses basket anymore. It is a UK based holiday so I can take what we need with us. Was just thinking the bassinet on the pram would be ideal as we would have it with us anyway.

Had a pram

Tinyteatime · 08/05/2019 20:13

Mine slept in the carry cot of the pram for several months. Some are suitable for overnight sleeping it will say on the manufacturers info.

I think the bassinet (if it’s a proper lie flat carrycot is a great idea! I’ve done it before. Was fine.

Yep check the instructions. It's something to do with ventilation iirc

Grimbles · 08/05/2019 20:22

I'll dig out the instructions!

Sometimes the simplest things just dont occur!

Does your travel cot not have a higher up attachment for smaller babies. My sons joie one has a bassinet type attachment that raises it so it’s around a foot deep and loads easier to get in & out of
