Dropping the nap???

DD 23 months - usually sleeps for an hour and a half at naptime (11am)
However she is a terror to get to bed so i am wondering whether to drop this nap in the hope of her actually going to sleep before 9pm and me getting to have some time in the evening to do something as wild as actually watch TV like a normal person Grin
Pushed through yesterday with no nap and she went to bed no problem, tried to do the same today and she fell asleep in her high chair at 12.30 and now I know she won’t go to bed much before me Blush
Does anyone have any advice on what on Earth to do to get this child to sleep?! Thanks!

I think the idea that dropping naps aids night time sleep has been proven to be false. Can you do every other day?
I've found best sleep time is after lunch but awake before 2. An active afternoon then sleep routine from 6pm.

Thanks for your reply, I always make sure she’s awake by 1.30-2 and we have a busy afternoon, then dinner bath etc but still she fights bedtime to the point it gets ridiculous and it could be 8.30 and she’s running around completely wide awake.

I’m watching with interest. We’ve been in nap purgatory for a good 4 months I reckon. I’ve gone for naps some days and not others as then I get some time to myself now and then! DD is now 2y8mo, if she naps she is awake past midnight sometimes. But if she doesn’t nap, although she goes to bed at a good time she wakes a LOT at night.
