Why has my 7 month old been screaming for the past hour and a half?

Hi everyone,
I’m really struggling with my 7 month old DS at the moment and would be really grateful to hear what worked for you.

We thought we’d cracked it. Good bedtime routine - bath, bottle and in bed for 7:30, but the last few nights have been hell.

Tonight, we settled him down as usual and he’s been screaming ever since. I’m about to lose my mind and DH has just had to walk away from him because he was losing his patience.

I just don’t understand it. There’s nothing wrong with him. When he’s picked up he stops immediately. I’ve tried lying next to him, white noise, leaving him to it, putting him in our bed next to me and nothing works.

Is it time to sleep train?

Sounds like separation anxiety, you could try to sleep train but you will need lots of lots of patience and need to remember he is still young and is probably a bit scared he’s alone so maybe not leave him for too long. It will pass. Teething could also be playing a part so make sure he has pain relief if you do sleep train so you know he’s not suffering. Good luck, hope it improves.

Few options for you:
Sing him to sleep
Sit next to him and gradually move further away from him towards the door
Read a story
Put something in with him that comforts him
Blackout blind

I feel your pain!! This is me right now but with my 10 month old.
Iv cried for hours now! And my patience is thin! He cry's for no reason, soon as I put him down, he cry's! Pick him up... and he stops.... I'm exhausted and it's not 1:30am! And I haven't even been to sleep yet! 😩 x
