No more naps!

My two and a half year old little boy has always been an amazing sleeper and has really loved his routine. He sleeps from 7pm until around 6am and then for an hour or two after lunch. The last few days he hasn't had his afternoon nap, I've put him down but he sits in his bed reading a book or talking to his toys.

What age did your little one stop having naps?

I'm going to keep putting him down just incase he does still need them or even just the few minutes alone to have quiet time and see how we go.

DD has never been a great napper but stopped having regular naps around 18 months I think ...
She is 3 now and we don't let her nap unless she's sick as she won't go to bed until ridiculously late
Without the nap she sleeps roughly 8pm-7am/8am

DD is exactly the same age and usually naps but has the odd day where she will not nap and sit in her cot singing or faff about. I still put her down and give her books or puzzles in her cot on those days so she has her quiet time as she is not ready for stimulation all day.

The days she doesn't nap, she is exhausted by 4pm and if we go anywhere, falls asleep in the car. She also doesn't eat as well because she is tired so I know she still needs it but I can't force the sleep, can only ensure she gets downtime.
