How do I get DS to nap in his cot??

My DS is 11weeks and sleeps decently at night in his Moses basket in our room, but I'm really struggling with his naps.

Firstly, he properly fights naps and even if I start trying to get him to sleep when his sleep cues, he has to get to the point of overtired crying before he actually falls asleep.

But then he'll only really nap on me or DH. He's getting big, so want to get him used to his cot in his room as he's going to be too big for the Moses basket soon, but if I put him there for a nap he wakes up after 25min on the dot. Whereas if I'm holding him or pick him up after 25min he'll sleep on me up to 2hrs.

He doesn't wake up crying or anything like that - just wakes up and looks around. I try to rock/shush him back to sleep, but nothing seems to work. I've tried just leaving him there hoping he'll fall back asleep on his own but always give in after 5-10 min as I know he needs sleep and he will if I hold him.

Any suggestions??

Try the pram? My DD got to the point of struggling to sleep in the day (serious case of FOMO) at about 8 weeks. She teh could no longer sleep on us/be rocked to sleep. Bedroom was too light in the day for her, so I pushed her back and forth in the kitchen in her pram. Now at 4.5 months I just put her in the pram and put the Snoozeshade over and she’s out like a light, no pushing needed.

Still only does 4 x 30 min naps a day mind, but I think that’s developmental rather than anything else. She sleeps 6.30 - 6.30 with one feed, so if it isn’t broken I’m not attempting to fix it!

The pram used to put him to sleep, but no longer works. Confused

Don't know what we're going to do when he's too big for his Moses basket and we have to use the cot at night...I can already see the sleepless nights coming!

Have you tried putting the Moses basket in the cot to get him used to it?
