Since starting to wean my lonat just before 6 months he has started to eat more. I always try and give him porridge or weetabix before bed as hv suggested it was filling. I have noticed that the nights he wakes at 12 or 1 ( early) for a feed and then always at 4ish if he has woken at that time for night feed are the days he has eaten 3 meals and all his bortles!! Why? Why is eating and drinking more effecting sleep like this!!! Why usnt he sleeping better. As put on previous post we droped dream feed coz he always woke in night anyway. I just dunno what to do. Currently awake at 4.15 as he sings to himself in his cotbhoping he will go bk to sleep and not wake his sister he shares with! He woke midnight abd had 6oz. Had 5-6oz every 3-4 hrs yesterday abd 3 meals with a big bowl if porridge for tea. Any ideas? Thanks xx

My lo sleeps through, but is 10months, and doesn't have a dream feed or a big bowl of cereal before bed, actuality haven't heard of that before. Perhaps try stopping that to see if it had any affect?

The other questions I have are:
How many naps does he have and for how long?
What time is bedtime?
Does he poo regularly?
What does he sleep in and what temp is the room?
Does he have teeth coming through?
Is the room very dark, even when the sun starts coming up?

There is a regression around the 8 month mark too, so it may be that.

He has about 3 ranging from 1-2 hrs or 20-30 mins depending where and what we are doing. He is really tired so in bed by 6.30-7 poos twice a day dark room ranging from 2-20 degrees depending on time of night with black out blinds. He has formula 5-6oz every 3-4 hrs. He seems to prefer food to milk.so i think fills up hence why milk is a struggle someimes. On a good noght he goes to bed at 7 wakes once for a bottle then sleeps till 5.30-6 x

6.30 is quite early for bed and sleeping for 11 hours over night is normal I'd say, so perhaps when the clocks go forward a n bedtime changes to 7.30/8 he might sleep until 6.30/7 naturally.

I'm sorry if this sounds obvious but is he definitely hungry in the night? In weaned from night feeds at about 7 months and my daughter would go back to sleep with a cuddle. Perhaps he is struggling to self settle at 4 when he wakes because he needs a feed then too? Dropping the nighttime feed might encourage him to take more milk during the day too

Its odd coz he can self settle at bedtime and nap time but at night struggles. I have tried water and watering down milk but he won't settle until he has milk. I dont mind the waking at 5.30 if he just wakes once and feeds. But the early 12 or 1 o clock feeds are really weird. I dunno whether to feed or not or why he finds it hard to settle in the night x
