My 17wk old won’t sleep much. Up every couple of hours in night like clock work. I can settle him back down quickly with a feed but just so tired. Been going on for at least three weeks so guessing not 4mo regression.

Keep hearing good things about sleepyheads and now v tempted. Would ppl recommend? And does anyone have any views on whether ok to buy second hand?

So ready to try anything right about now

Thank you 🙏

I used it at night, and then I got a sleepyhead grand and used that at night too. Without it DS used to roll onto his side, which he could do from birth. I decided I was more worried about the unsafe sleeping position than about the sleepyhead. There have been no deaths of babies in sleepyheads, but lots of deaths of babies sleeping on their side or front.

RogueV · 20/03/2019 21:18

I also use it at night and have used it from birth. Baby sleeps like a dream in it but then again she pretty much sleeps anywhere. She is 8 weeks old and I will be putting her in a sleeping bag so planning on not using the sleepyhead for night time. Are others using it with a sleeping bag? Have you enough room?

namechangerooey · 21/03/2019 08:30

We used our sleepyhead in our bed, the next to me and then in the cot. We used it with a sleeping bag also.

Thanks so much for your honesty in your experiences with it, really helps. Going to take the plunge and try and get hold of one second hand. Will let you know if it helps. Fingers crossed 😙

Hi op , we had sleepyhead for dc1 was brilliant for her reflux . It was the only thing she would sleep in. We wanted want for dc2 but couldn't afford another so we bought a purflo baby nest . Exactly the same , half the price ! purflo.com/collections/breathable-nests

SnowWhite26 · 21/03/2019 19:51

We have used ours since about 2 months and he sleeps well with feeds. He likes to snuggle generally. Hes now 7 months and quite long so thinking i might try him out of it as he looks like wants to roll and wiggle but think he will end up in funny positions. Has anyone got transitioning experience?

SnowWhite26 · 21/03/2019 19:54

Rogue: He has been a Sleeping bag since being in it. Kicks blankets off :) So all ok.
I have 3 friends all who bought bigger one for there children coz they love it so much. He will stay at grandparents so will be a bit of a faff taking it everywhere lol

wearie · 21/03/2019 21:39

Yeah I wonder what the transition is like if they really love the snugness of the pod. Thanks for the heads up about the cheaper option, will check out. I'd pay thousands for more than two hours sleep right now

I used purflo nest. It's fully breathable and they are currently campaning to have to unsupervised sleep overturn. The bottom is mesh so it's still like they are sleeping on a hard matress if you put it in crib.

Mintypea5 · 22/03/2019 13:34

We had a purflo one which is a lot cheaper than the sleepyhead and loved it! I know lullaby trust advise against any sleep aids but we cake to our own decision that we
We’re coldortable with our choice. It worked amazingly until he was about 7 months when he went into own cot and we went cold turkeys

Planning to use for DC3!

SnowWhite26 · 22/03/2019 22:15

lmj25 · 22/03/2019 22:23

I have the purflo breathable nest. He sleeps in it in the next to me he's slept through since 7 week old usually anywhere between 7-6 the next morning. We were apprehensive as our first co slept and would not go down anywhere. Couldn't imagine not Having it Smile

Mintypea5 · 22/03/2019 22:33

@SnowWhite26 cold turkey was hard work for a few nights but now he loves having yen space to roll around his cot. He self settled but rolling a wriggling around

Laureline · 24/03/2019 06:14

It did not work for us, her sleep wasn’t any better in it.
