DD 2.5 Years sleep problems , goes through phases

Really struggling with my DD sleep again and I'm also now pregnant so I am utterly exhausted last night she woke up 3 times and sat there crying as soon as I put her back down she went to sleep, then she was up at 6AM, shes been awake for 12 hours and shes crying in her room again, I have read her a book sang her a song and left her.

I do leave her to cry at this point and will go and put her back into bed if necessary she will usually get in bed and go to sleep within an hour! But I'm just completely done in.

She goes through phases she will sleep perfect 6pm-6/7AM for maybe 4-6 weeks then its 3-4 weeks of this again! She wont go down for DH in the night she just gets excited which makes it 10X worse so I just sort her out!

What can I do ... please help I just want a nice bath but I cant even do that till she is asleep as its next to her bedroom 😬😞 she is currently shouting mum at the stair gate because she knows that pulls on the heart strings....

My nearly 3yo DS2 woke for the day at 2am. It's been similar for the past month. He's never slept past 5am.

No advice! Sorry Sad

DS2 was great until a month ago. I'm broken! DS1 was pretty bad, he's 6 now and sleeps in his own bed all night, even talks about lie-ins sometimes Grin

@MutantDisco oh wow! That sounds like bliss 😁 my DD is currently lying in bed going between laughing at herself and crying 🤪 think I am going to go crazy!

My 2.5 yo has never slept more than 4 hours in a row,. And normally he wakes every 2-3 hours and is up for the day at 5.30.
I think some kids just take longer to sleep through.

For me the game changer is when they can read. Dd2 is just at this stage now and if she can't sleep will happily read a book. Dd1 has been the same once she could read.
Do you think 2.5 is too young to read? Grin

Hiya there! Im having similar problems with our 2 1/2 year old girl. I am currently 5 months pregnant so weve recently moved her out of her cot (and room) and into her newly painted pink room with a big girl bed in it. In her cot she slept like a dream 7pm-7am no problem.

Shes been in her new room about 6weeks now and she is happy to go to sleep in her room but she wakes up 3am screaming like clockwork. 3am-6am is nightmare time for us. She just screams. She has a babygate on her door so we have tried sleeping in bed with her and moving out when she asleep, tried leaving her to cry, tried talking to her calmly. Nothing seems to work and im sure our neighbours are close to reporting us because of the screaming haha

As i said we have a baby on the way in july and i dont want to let her come in to our bed becaue when baby is here - 4 in a bed just isnt ideal.

Im thinking of getting intouch with a sleep trainer, i think we are doing something wrong.
