7-8 hours between nap and bedtime

After several weeks of late nights, observations and trial and error I have observed that 22 month old DS requires about 7-8 hours of awake time between nap wake up and falling asleep at night.

How the hell can I manage this? He still needs a nap, there is no way he can go 12 hours without a nap, which I can manage if we stayed at home all day. We live 30 mins from the local towns, attractions, soft play etc, so we'd be restricted on what we could do during the day. But, I can't see him being tired enough at 10/11am for a nap, and that would make nap time the new battle ground.

Has anyone successfully shifted the afternoon nap from the afternoon to the morning and what did your routine look like?

Thanks.

My DS is 2 and up until last couple of months he was having 2 naps a day one in morning and one in afternoon.
He now wakes up about 6/6.30, goes to sleep for a nap at 10.30ish has 2 hours (sometimes 3!) then goes to sleep at night about 6.30/7.
He goes to sleep quite early so you could push your DC's bedtime out to later to give you your hours. My DS also naps for a loooong time whereas yours may not have as long.
