Baby won’t let me put him down

Since my son was born we haven’t really been able to put him down to sleep at all, he would just wake up instantly, he’s also a very light sleeper so no matter how long we let him sleep for he’s still barely asleep when we go to put him in his bed. When he was six weeks we started swaddling him as we heard that might help and he started sleeping AMAZING. I could put him down drowsy, only rocking him for about five minutes, and he send himself off to sleep. He’d have three or four naps a day all in his own bed and sleep up to seven hours a time at night! He’s just turned eight weeks now and that seems to have stopped completely over the last couple of days , the only time I seem to be able to put him down is at bed time and even then the most he’ll sleep for now is five hours. I’m holding him through the entire day. Any ideas?

Mine had a little regression at eight weeks, he was sleeping 5-6 hours but it went down to just 3-4 and it was harder to get him to sleep. It lasted about a week and then he went back to 5-6 again. He’s now thirteen weeks and his sleep is getting gradually better, last night he went 7pm-6am with just one feed at 1am. Hopefully yours will improve too!

Thank you! That makes me feel a little better, hopefully it's just a phase and he'll go back to normal soon 😊
