Please Fucking Help Me

Hi Mums.

I have a 7, almost 8, month old DD who won't sleep in her cot. Every time I go to put her in it whether drowsy or asleep she wakes instantly. I've just tried again tonight for 2 hours to put her in her cot and still she is fighting me.

I've been doing the pick up put down method since she was 6 months old when she went into her cot and into her own room. She was good to begin with steadily went down hill (taking longer to get her to sleep and more frequent wake ups) and suddenly this week she seems to have decided she doesn't want any of it. She does have a cold which came on yesterday and may be having another teething bout (no teeth but seems to have good couple of days then bad couple of days)

DH (should I say devil husband) just moans and states 'she's getting ridiculous'.

Am I doing everything wrong here or is it just one of those couple of days stick it out kinda things? I'm so bloody angry and sad not helped by the fact I'm 5 months pregnant 🙄

Please help Mumma's!

Will your baby sleep in a bouncer/ pram? My son was like this and we had to rock him in his pram until he fell asleep, we would transfer him into bed once he had been asleep for a couple of hours. He is now 2 and goes to bed a dream.

I also have a 7 month old and she has been a terrible sleeper until recent weeks, we did often let her sleep in her bouncer in our bedroom and she slept so well especially when she had a cold.. not ideal but we all managed to get some sleep.

Like I say it won't last forever but pregnancy, sleep deprivation and being a mummy can take its toll Flowers

There’s lots of reasons why it could be happening. It could be sleep regression. Some babies really don’t like cots. You could try putting the mattress on the floor and see if she’ll settle that way?

Mine never slept in a cot. She has a mattress on the floor of her room, I lie next to her until she falls asleep then leave. I then go back in when she wakes during the night and usually stay there until morning. Not ideal, but best way of maximising sleep.

My DS wouldn't sleep in his carry cot, even as a new born, our midwife told us to put him in his bouncy chair, it laid almost flat but he could see what was going on around him, he was a very nosy baby. She told us that putting him in his chair during the day would help him learn the difference between night & day instead of putting him down in a carry cot or his pram. I even on very difficult nights when he was screaming all night took his chair upstairs to bed with us & put it in his cot, being slightly propped up helped him settle & gave me some desperately needed sleep myself. You do what you have to to get them to sleep for your own sanity.
