Pick Up Put Down Method Advice Please!

Hi,

Last night we tried the PUPD Method and after 45 minutes baby fell asleep on her own after being put down drowsy but awake (oh god that phrase haunts me...)

For anyone who has persisted with this method how did you deal with the following -

Consequent night wakes (method to put to sleep then)

And how long did it take for that 'learning' of being put down drowsy and falling asleep on their own to translate into the night wakings and them to sleep better after waking?

Thanks

Oh and since there seems to be a few ways to interpret the method we are doing 'no tears' (impossible to have zero tears) but at the first sign of distress in the cot baby was picked immediately back up and when she was calmed she was put back in the cot. She's 6.5 months old

Hopeful bump...

I'm sorry, I don't know this one as we haven't sleep trained, but I'd imagine for maximum effectiveness you'd do the same at every wakeup. Not possible if she falls asleep mid-feed though.

IIRC, gentler methods usually take two or three weeks to stick.
