Breastfeeding to sleep help

My 7 1/2 month baby is still cluster feeding all thru the night usually every 45 minutes to an hour.
He is now on three meals a day an I was hoping the night waking would reduce but if anything it's got worse.
I have exclusively breastfeed for the whole duration as baby wouldn't take a bottle, I've tried everything at night to do a nice bedtime routine, bath, books, feed where I have tried to keep him awake before I put him down to sleep. This never works the only time he will go to sleep is if I give him the boob. He will then wake up every 45 minutes to an hour and cry and scream unless I put him back on. Sometimes he just suckles sometimes he does actually feed. I've tried taking him off but he will just cry an want to latch back on. This lasts the whole night an I'm just exhausted now.
We co-sleep too an I really just would like to get some sort of normality back for my husband an I or am I being to selfish and expecting to much.
Any tips would be helpful thanks
