5 Month Old Gets Cranky for naps a lot

I feel I am spending half my day in LOs room to put her down for naps.
We have never been able to get her down for more than 20-30m at a time.

In the past couple of months we have finally been seeing signs of when LO wants to go for a nap - first She will start whining and disinterested in toys or interaction, then we stand her on our stomach holding her waist, she bends into your chest and then nuzzles in, this is when we take her upstairs and she goes down for a nap in a couple of minutes with minimal fuss - if we wait even 10mins after this, she cries the house down and fights sleep

We could put her down at 11, she will wake at 1130 then wants to go for another nap before 1230 which isn’t a lot of time, plus also she refuses to sleep in the car seat or pram or anywhere else besides her crib.

Naps aren’t really The issue but really how much she wants to nap and wondered if anyone else’s baby does/did this and if I need to change anything.

Our life is being dictated by her naps that no matter when we go out to do something, be is 30min shopping trip or an hour and half meet up with family, she will whine then cry then goes into high pitches screaming because we can’t put her down for a nap 😩

They're all different. My 8 month old still get a grumpy after about 2 hours awake, whereas others seem to last 3+ hours. 5 months was the worst time for 30 minute naps though, at around 6 months it started to get better. I've heard before that as long as baby isn't upset you sound leave them in bed for as long as you want them to be asleep to get them in the habit.

I also recommend downloading the huckleberry app. It will give you suggested nap times based on baby's age. Sometimes my little one can't quite make it to what they say, but it's a useful guide!

She's probably awake too long in thr first place. I used to follow an awake for 1.5 hours in the morning and then put effort into getting a nap. Then about 2 hours after she woke, try for another nap, then about 3 hours after waking aim for bed time.

Eg wake 7am
Nap 930 /10 until 11/1130

Nap 130/2 until 330/4

Bed at 630/7
