My little boy was 7 months a couple of days ago. Last weekend he started waking screaming at the top of his lungs 1 sleep cycle after being put to bed (40 minutes). I pick him up and pat his back as he usually only behaves like this when he has painful gas. Within a couple of minutes he's back asleep on my shoulder. I lay him in his crib and leave the room. Another sleep cycle later he is awake and screaming again. This can happen 2-3 times. He then falls asleep and sleeps through the night until 6.30 or 7am. This has now happened every night since. Any clues as to what could be causing this?
He is a big boy for his age (91st percentile) and eats 3 meals a day and takes 4 x 7oz bottles. He has a morning nap of 40 minutes, a nap after lunch for 1h 20 minutes and an afternoon nap for 40 minutes. The last nap is usually over by 5pm and he goes to bed sometime between 7.30 and 8pm.
He has no teeth yet and I've not seen many signs of teething.
Any advice appreciated.
