If my 6 month old can sleep 5 hours have a bottle and sleep 4 more does that mean he can self soothe/settle?

It's not really about the length of time they sleep although if he's doing a four hour stretch he probably can.

What it means is that when a baby gets to the end of each sleep cycle it can get itself back off to sleep without any input by parents.

I think a 6 month old would have 90 minute sleep cycles but I could be wrong.

Putting baby down wide awake and them falling asleep on their own

Thanks, I think he can, other morning I couldn't get to him he cried for 1 mins went quiet, when I checked a bit later he was asleep. At Bed time he usually falls asleep after his bottle.

But lately he keeps waking every 40 ish mins but he's teething and has been for ages so starting to question myself.

If waking every 40 minutes it’s worth moving the bottle a little earlier in the routine. So pjs, bottle, teeth, book then bed. It just removes the association altogether
