Need to ditch the swaddle - help!

We've been swaddling my DS since birth. He's now nearly 6 months and has rolled a couple of times, so we think we should stop.

But the few nights I've tried him in a gro bag, he's woken up crying every 5 mins, until I put him back in the swaddle! We are now using the 50/50 swaddle up, but I still think we need to get him in a gro bag in case he rolls.

I just have no idea how to get him to sleep without his arms contained. He just cries and cries!

Any advice would be massively appreciated!

Well, they aren't advised by the safe sleep guidance, but sleepyheads work on this premise, I believe. I think you'd probably need the bigger one though and they are very pricey!

This website seems to have some tips, too:

I loosened it a little and they started wiggling their arms out. Also leave one arm in and one arm out.

Mind you, one of mine slept in a swaddle until he was about 11 months old. He was fine. This morning I had to rouse teenage him for football training and he had the duvet wrapped right round him with just a foot sticking out. Unlike with baby him I was not tempted to give the foot a little kiss.
