Three month old won't settle till midnight

My three month old daughter absolutely refuses to settle till gone midnight each night. She catnaps during the day, sleeping for about 30-40 minutes at a time and then being awake for about an hour and 15 minutes between naps. We've tried taking her up to bed earlier in the evening but it's as if something in her brain won't switch off until midnight no matter what we do. At that point she goes down no problem and will sleep for most of the next 10-11 hours, just waking for the occasional feed. Will she just naturally sort her body clock out at some point and shift her bedtime earlier, or should we be doing something to make it happen? Anyone else been in the same boat?

Yes, it's not unusual for a baby so young. Mine was like that. To be honest, it never bothered me. He was nice to have around and I thought, if it is right for him, it's nobody else's business. The grandparents all used to tut a bit.

If it was me I would stop trying - it's very stressful - just enjoy your time together.

You could wake her up earlier each day, of she sleeps until 11am she won't be tired at 7pm...
