Waking at the same time every night !

I have a 21 month old who has randomly started waking at the exact same time every night.

It's always 3am! She wakes up and talks away to herself , wide awake and happy so I leave her, but it goes on for an hour then she starts to get crabbit and I end up having to go in ! Usually end up giving her a drink before she'll go back to sleep. It's meaning we're awake for almost 2 hours every night ! It's so exhausting.

Any ideas why she's doing this ? What's the best way to deal with it, like should ignore her completely , am I better going in as soon as she wakes rather than waiting til she starts to whinge ? Is it just a phase they all have ?

Pregnant and already tired as it is without this every night ....

DS1 did this, except he wasn't happy from the start. It just stopped as suddenly as it started.
Might be worth giving her the drink before she gets grumpy - but if she's not tired, I don't think she will go to sleep any earlier.

Try to make sure you go to bed early enough to get a decent chunk of sleep - 4hrs is my magic number. If I don't get a 4 hr chunk, I feel rotten all day (I'm better on one 4 hr chunk than 2*3hr chunks, which is technically more sleep)
