How to feel DS fall asleep quicker.

DS is 2.3. It takes him around 90 minutes to fall asleep at bedtime. He is really good and just talks to himself in his cot but I am keen to move him
to a bed which I can’t do as I know he will start getting out.

At the minute bedtime is 7:30, bath and story start at 7pm. He naps for 1-2 hours at mid day and is sleeping generally 9pm- 6am at night. I’ve tried cutting the nap out but it made no difference.

Is there any way of helping him to drop off at bedtime? 9pm seems far too late for someone his age to still be awake.

What happens if you put him to bed earlier? My ds is the same but we take him up between 6-6.30pm then he chats away to himself before he drifts off around 7.30.

I used to worry about it but he seems happy and doesn't present my problems with getting up the next day.

I could give it a go I guess but my DH doesn’t get home til 7pm and likes to do his bath. It would also cause a problem still when moving him to a bed as he wouldn’t stay in it for 90 minutes.

My DD was like this until she dropped her nap. When we got her to drop her nap she had more sleep overall.
