Baby didn't feed to sleep for the first time in a long time

LO is 10 and a bit months. He has fed to sleep at bedtime generally since birth, other than a few occasions (not actively looking to change this, no sleep training advice sought please).
He's just fallen asleep for bed without feeding to sleep. He was biting a bit and is normally distracted by being changed sides, cuddled for a bit, rocked for a bit etc i.e. Just generally distracted. Anyway today he was still biting after all those things so I cuddled him a bit more and stroked down his nose. He soon fell asleep, so the first time in a long time without BF to sleep.
I feel a bit Sad did anyone else find this? Maybe it's a thing now and he's growing up?? I have/had no desire to force night weaning and intended to continue as long as he wanted/until my milk dries up in further pregnancy.

Just a bit meh. Anyone understand? DH seems more interested in GTA than making me feel better.

Hi OP. I was in a very similar situation a few months ago with DS (14mo) although I was desperate to stop feeding to sleep. It's been a slow journey but I finally managed to stop bf just before Christmas. I can totally understand how you feel though, it's such a massive change and does feel like them growing up suddenly and quickly! Even though I planned night weaning it still was somewhat bittersweet. What I will say is that I doubt it is the end for you. DS would occasionally go off to sleep on his own when he was teething badly and was biting but would always go back to normal after. What has been wonderful for me though is finding new ways to help him to sleep. We are still co sleeping and a couple of nights after night weaning DS woke as usual at 10ish and went back to sleep with his arms around my neck! It was just so lovely and just a new stage...just reminds me that he's a long way off growing up really and still needs me, just not my milk!!
