night weaning HELP

I want to night wean my 9 month old but he is having NONE of it. I wake up exhausted and I need more sleep!
He is fed to sleep and currently wakes up every 2/3 hours overnight - moving from his cot to.our bed for the night at around 11pm. I know these are bad habits, but I've tried giving him formula in the evening and he'll take maybe 2oz then won't take anymore and cries to be breastfed, so I cave and feed him to sleep. In the night when he wakes up hes fed back to sleep next to me on bed - sometimes he'll fall back asleep if he's rocked but will then wake an hour later - which i think suggests he's hungry?

I feed him 3 meals a day and a mixture of water and breast milk in between. He will take a bit of bottle from me and other people but mainly holds out for the boob. I don't want him to be dehydrated but I'm trapped in a cycle where he won't take much bottle.

Please give me some advice on how to get him to drastically cut down his night feeds, without dehydrating him! Ideally id like to move him on to formula now rather than breast feeding.

I want to move him in to his own room but I'm worried I'll get even less.sleep having yo get out of bed and walk to his room, settle him and then get back to mine only to be woken shortly after.
