How long did you cosleep

DS2 is almost three months and a terrible sleeper. I mean TERRIBLE. He will only sleep when being held day and night. He has been like this since a few days old. He seems unable to stay asleep. I have tried swaddling and white noise which only helps a little.

Because of the above I have been cosleeping as there is no other way to get chunks of sleep. I am not a fan of cosleeping, I like my own space at night and it gives me horrible back pain. My toddler is also very jealous of cosleeping and it is causing problems.

I've spoken to mums who cosleep until their baby is a toddler and have complained about what terrible sleepers they still are. It gives the impression that cosleeping is creating a dependency and hard to stop. I previously rocked DS1 to sleep but was able to stop when he naturally grew out of it, but doesn't seem like there's the same natural transition with co sleeping?

How old was your child when you stopped cosleeping?
