How to transition my 7 month old from a co-sleeper to her crib

Hi looking for some tips. My 7 month old DD has slept in a ‘next to me’ in our room and I’m trying to get her to sleep in her cot, tried starting with daytime naps but she wakes as soon as I place her in the cot and won’t settle again! She has her day time naps on me or mostly on the couch(I stay by her side until she wakes again)

Any tips would be helpful - I cannot do the leaving her to cry out we both just end up in tears and stressed out by this method.

Also should say she sleeps all night 7/8pm-7/8am no white noise needed and uses a dummy

Try starting with the night instead? Going from sleeping in a cosleeper to sleeping in a cot is a less stark transition than sleeping in arms to cot, so she might find that easier. Plus at night the sleep pressure is much higher - she's more tired, and so the need to sleep is more likely to win out over the 'where the hell am I?'

That makes sense🙈 she’s down for the night so will give that a try tomorrow! Thank you

Just thought id thank you for the advice, 2 nights in her cot and there was no carryon at all! We moved the cot into our room so she can get used to it but I’m sure we will be able to move her into her own room soon! Thanks again x

Glad to hear it - sort of ironic because we've had a couple of truly appalling nights of sleep from DS in the last few days, so I don't know why I felt qualified to give advice! But glad it's working for you!
