Leg acrobatics during sleep

Hi all. My 15 week old DS sleeps very well but often through the night he will pick his legs up and slam them down onto the mattress quite hard. Has anyone else had this? He doesn't seem to be in any particular distress and will often settle back to sleep shortly after a burst of these body slams. Any ideas what this could be?

Ha! It's totally normal. Mine still does it when he's trying to get to sleep and he's 7 months. I read somewhere it's just another way they soothe themselves (doesn't seem very soothing!), not sure how true it is though! We watch him lifting his legs on the monitor then wait for the almighty bang through the ceiling Halo.

Thanks for your reply. Glad to hear it's normal but not so much that it goes on until at least 7 months! Doesn't seem very soothing to me either, maybe I'll try it next time I can't get to sleep Grin
