Hi

Trying to get my DD who is 18 weeks old to take longer day naps. Exclusively breastfed.

Day looks like this :
Wake: anytime between 5am and 6.20am
7am Feed
Play
Nap: usually 8am to 8.30am
Feed/ play etc
Nap2 11am to 11.30 or sometimes much later if unsettled 11.45 to 12.15
Feed / play etc
Nap 3 2pm to 2.30pm
Feed / play
Chill time on playmat

Bedtime routine starts from 5pm.
Bed at 6pm
#wakes at midnight or 1amish for a feed and occasionally 4am...

She's a great night sleeper going from 6pm to midnight or 1am....just like to get longer day naps....

I have an 18 week old too!

How does she nap? The reason I ask is because if I put mine down or if I’m still she will only sleep 30mins. If I put her in the sling then when she comes into a light sleep at 30 mins I keep walking and shushing and she goes back to sleep. Our day

6-7 wake
7-8 feed
8.30-10.30 nap
11-12 feed
12.30-2.30 nap
3-4 feed
4.30-5 nap 6-7 feed
7 bedtime

She has 3-5h naps per day and sleeps 11h at night with one brief wake for milk

Xx

I try and follow the Feed Play Sleep routine.. with a top up feed before sleep...

She sleeps in her bassinet next to my bed for both naps and bedtime.

She is currently going through the fourth leap of the wonder weeks and it is disrupting her sleep some what.

Some days she will wake before 6am and the sometimes after 6.30am.

Why don’t you try different methods for nap time like car, sling, pram walk? The movement may help her link sleep cycles and do a longer nap. Sleep breeds sleep and once she gets used to longer naps she may go back in the bedside bassinet?
