Crying after 45 mins sleep

Does anyone have any advice. My 5 month old has started screaming after a 45 minute nap. He's also started waking up screaming after 45 mins at bedtime ( about 7pm after bath and bottle), he then wakes every 45 mins until about 11pm.

He can sleep for longer if being pushed in pram.

I've also just put him down in cot so he fell asleep where he wakes but still woke screaming.

Check how long a sleep cycle is for a 5month old. I know it's 45mins for toddlers - perhaps he is completing a sleep cycle and wakening during the light sleep phase but he still wants to sleep so is crying in protest?

Do you wake him up or try soothe him back to sleep? I'm sure I remember going through a phase like this with dd.

Good luck I hope you get to the bottom of it!

My DS went through a phase of this when he was a baby but only in the evenings, I used to rub and gently pat his tummy until he fell asleep again, that exact method won't necessarily work on your baby but if you can find a way to help sooth him back to sleep. We did find white noise was fantastic for helping him get to and then stay asleep, particularly the hoover noise.

Mine has been doing this after bed ever since 7 months, she's now 11 months... it's driving me bonkers!
