Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a sleep trainer who can come in and train our baby how to sleep through the night? I’m looking for someone who can come to our house and help us through it rather than offer Skype advice. My confidence is at an all time low now and really just need the help.

Thanks

9 months is still so little, they aren’t biologically ready to sleep through the night at that age. You need to readjust your expectations.

OP you are doing great. Some babies are naturally ‘good’ at sleeping at a young ag, most however are not. Please don’t lose your confidence! We are all just muddling through doing the best we can.

Quite often people have different ideas of what sleeping through actually means, some think it’s sleeping from 7pm to 7am, some think it’s sleeping and only waking briefly for feeds, some think it’s sleeping for 4 hours straight. So please try not to compare with others as your definition maybe a lot harder to achieve IYSWIM.

My baby is 10 months and wakes typically every 90mins. It’s tough but I have found cosleeping has helped and lowering my expectations what I can achieve outside of caring for my baby (eg cooking, cleaning). Right now our babies are going through the biggest developmental changes and this often makes their sleep the worst it will ever be. This 8-10 month ish regression is often considered the worse. I believe sleep is developmental. Hang on in there! Get help where you can find it. FlowersBrew
