Co sleeping

I co sleep with DD who is 8 months, I have bedguards on the sides of the bed but it’s not completely closed in, the other night she woke up and crawled off the bed through one of the gaps and has tried doing it a few times since but I’ve stopped her

Do other people have this problem? If so how did you solve it other than haveing lots of pillows and blankets on the floor?

We dismantled the bed and put the mattress on the floor. Ds still falls out 😂

I like that idea but my bed is less than a year old and it would mean getting rid of it completely as I have nowhere to store it

Can you put one side against the wall and both guards on the other side?

I’m going to put her cot without one of the sides on one side of the bed and adjust the bed guards as best as possible on the other side and see how it goes, I’m kinda hoping this way she’ll get used to her cot and it’ll be an easy transition for her as I’m dying to have my bed to myself again 😂

We put DS’ cot against the side of the bed and he slept between me and the cot at around 8 months (same problem as you with him crawling off the bed). Just a warning - it didn’t make DS more likely to use his cot and he screamed blue murder if we ever actually tried putting him in it.

We’ve since moved the cot out of the bedroom and just pushed the bed against the wall (and shoved a maternity pillow down the side of the bed to close the gap). He’s 16 months now.
