My DS is 4 months and used to sleep like a dream. Used to nap with no problems. Its now a constant struggle to get him to sleep. He sobs and sobs whilst we rock him until he falls asleep. He used to go to sleep at around 7.30 then wake up at 3 for a feed then go until 7. Now he won't go to sleep until after 9 and wake up a couple of times in the night. He has reflux and has been suffering with trapped wind which Infacol or dentinox hasnt touched. Im not sure what else to do but its really starting to get me down
Any help appreciated

Oh my love the 4 month sleep regression! It can go suck hairy ass as far as I’m concerned. My DS is 4.5 months and we have had two weeks of HELL hours awake in the middle of the night, constant feeding, Not going to sleep as usual after bath, catnaps in the daytime. Awful. Just be as consistent as you can and don’t lose the plot as often as I did. My little one also has reflux so it’s been tricky for her as she wanted to feed to sleep all the time and yet had taken so much milk on it hurt her.
Is your LO on meds for reflux?
You have my empathy and sympathy. It does pass (owner of a toddler too so it’s not my first rodeo) but it’s not easy!

Also she’s my DD not DS. See this is what happens when you’re sleep deprived!

Thanks @KTD the gp gave him gaviscon but it didn't do anything so hes on anti reflux milk now but still brings some back up. Glad its not just me! Just hate seeing him so upset

Yep unfortunately it’s something that you just have to ride out. I think they usually say it goes on for 2-6 weeks.

I have a 5 month old and it’s still quite bad. Although this week she doesn’t seem to be fighting naps as much and is going back to sleep easier in the night.

Just do whatever you need to do to get some sleep (for him and for you!). Co sleeping/ feeding to sleep/ rocking etc.

If you look on the positive side of things, your baby has reached a development milestone Smile . That’s what I keep telling myself when I have fed to sleep for the 5th time! It’s hell but I keep telling myself it will pass.

Go back to the doc if it isn’t working. Gaviscon made my daughter constipated and it was a nightmare to give to her as she is EBF. Ranitidine has worked wonders
