What time does your baby wake up?!

This is not a bragging thread, I know I'm extremely lucky with sleep (and it has nothing to do with anything I've done!)

DS has slept through the night since about 8 weeks old but doesn't nap much during the day (3 half hour naps with persuasion as he fights day time sleep).

He doesn't go for his night time sleep until between 9 - 10 pm, will happily nap for half an hour at 7 ish then is wide awake and ready to play! He'll sleep through till half 7 then have a bottle and go back to sleep, this morning until 11am (this is very unusual it's usually 10).

What time does everyone else's baby wake? I'll admit that for me the later wakings are fine because I'm a late sleeper late riser too and I'm enjoying the lie ins Blush but I know eventually he'll need to get up much earlier when I start work again. I'm not a fan of strict routines and tried for one day to encourage set naps which included us both in tears and I thought why bother?

I'm not due to start work for another 7 months, that's enough time right? Surely if after Xmas I start waking him (and me Blush) earlier then the night sleep will gradually get earlier?

My dd (10 weeks) goes to sleep at 6.30/7 has one feed at some point (usually 2/3am) and is then up at 6.30/7 so her sleep pattern is pretty much the same as your sons but shifted earlier. We (oh and other 2 children) are all up at 7 so the baby is too! The baby will have a short nap before I set off for the school run and then has a good 3 hour nap from half 9/10ish in the morning and then will have two shorter naps in the afternoon as these have to revolve around the afternoon pick up. I get a lot done during her morning nap!!!

Sorry - to add to your question - yes, if you gradually get up earlier he should do too, my dd soon got into the habit of being up around 7!

I'd just go with it for now. He is likely to get earlier over time but certainly no need to rush it now! DD got earlier without our help, especially in the lighter summer mornings.

My baby is an early bed time/early riser but that suits us as we are and always have been an early riser household. Bath, last bottle and bed at 6pm, awake for a feed around 2am (although the last few days has added in a 9.30pm night feed too) and awake at around 5 - was 6 until the clocks changed 🤦‍♀️- but it's the routine we planned on getting her in to as it works well for us, we eat together and chill for an evening and she gets a good nights sleep, so we've been fairly strict on that since day one. If it's working for you now then I'd just stick at it until it needs changing.

Hv said if we wanted to move it at all then just adjust 15 mins a day and they don't really notice much difference so, in theory, you shouldn't have much of a fight on your hands.
