My 3 month old DD refuses to be put down for a nap. She will happily sleep in the pram or car and will eventually fall asleep in someone’s arms when rocked and shushed but as soon as I put her down she is wide awake and crying. We have tried letting her cry it out for a few mins but she got so worked up and upset it took ages to calm her down. Really don’t want to do it again! Tried a dummy but she spits it out. She sleeps ok at night and self settles after a dream feed but refuses to go to bed any earlier that us. She is mostly FF due to supply issues but I BF a few times a day for both my and her comfort. BF usually sends her to sleep but again she won’t be put down afterwards. She is a happily little girl most of the time but loves human contact and hates napping. Because of this she clearly gets overtired and grouchy. Does anyone have any advice? Driving us crazy, especially at adult meal times, constantly eating with one hand!

I'm afraid I don't have any advice but just wanted to say I'm in exactly the same boat with my 3 month old! Sleeps brilliantly in her crib at night but will not be put down during the day. Only sleeps on me, in the sling, or in the pram or car (as long as they are moving!) Wakes up as soon as put down even if she seems to be deeply asleep. So frustrating!

I could have written this post six weeks ago. Mine is 4.5 months and until very recently he refused daytime naps unless moving or attached to one if our shoulders. No idea why but he was fine at night but just would not settle In the crib/basket during the day. I was literally walking 10k a day getting him to sleep. However, he is getting a lot better. I don’t have much of a routine but what helped was trying to establish one regular nap in the same place each day. I noticed he likes to sleep from 9am-10ish. So every day I put him in his basket in the living room and he goes to sleep at this time . Once he started getting used to sleeping there he eventually started to settle there at other times. He’s also started to fall asleep in random places like in the jungle gym. Might just be age but have faith yours can improve. My issue now is that he will outgrow the basket soon so we might have to find a new routine soon.
