7 month old boy weird sleep structure

Dear moms, any advice? Baby goes through this weird sleep structure each night whereby it’s a rotation of two types of sleep:

  • few hours of frequent wakes (every 10,20,30 or 40 min, all random). The only way to settle is breast otherwise crying up
  • few (2-4) hours of sleep with almost no or much less frequent wake

The night can start with either type of sleep, then followed by another type. Each night we get each type at least twice.

Goes to bed around 7-730, up betw 6-7 am; morning nap 2h after wake for 30 min; lunch nap 1.5 h with compulsory wake after 30 min; evening nap 30 min

Weaning well ;

Hi Arianna
How old is your baby? My girl is 10 months this week and we’re dealing with something similar.
She’s still bf, but finally quite keen on solids so I am less stressed about making sure she’s nursing all the time.
The difference is that my girl will go down at 7.30-8.00 pm and sleep at least 2.5 hrs, sometimes 4. So at around 11 she has a dream feed which I keep hoping will keep her asleep longer but she’s then awake every hour until about 3 am after which she sleeps well again until 6-7 am. She really needs the boob to calm down and actually nurses well during the muddle it the night. It’s just exhausting lol!
I don’t have any kind of concrete advice to give you but maybe it’ll be helpful to know others are in a similar situation. Good luck and try to stay positive !
