DD is an amazing sleeper but once every few weeks she will just be up all night... drives me nuts, she went down half 6 and has been making noise in her sleep since 10! She's been awake since 1AM.... Iv given up and gave her the iPad in her cot (she's 2 1/2 so knows how to watch it) seriously I'm so tired and hungry! My DH is a really bad sleeper but obviously falls straight asleep as soon as she wakes up ! I want to kick him in the back 😂😂😂

Ouch I feel for you OP. I can't sleep at the moment either. No kids just a stressful uni schedule that's caused me to reverse my days and nights which isn't great tbh. Currently watching TV because I can't sleep which means I'm going to get stuck in my own head Confused which is a terrifying and depressing place to be.

Currently contemplating having some sort of weight loss surgery (I need to lose weight but I've no desire to go that drastic but that's where my head is at) or going onto a total meal replacement programme (bad idea health risks are insane and I know how to do it the right way) but it's late and I can't sleep so going into a pit of self loathing wanting to hack the fat from my body because that will make me a better person Hmm. Sometimes I really don't understand my brain. Logically I know what I'm doing but by brain is spiralling.

Jogs15 · 22/11/2018 02:05

Sorry to hear your issues OP and hope things get better soon. I genuinely think my 3 month old daughter has FOMO ! She only has 2 x 20 mins naps between 9am and 5pm. Drives us crazy! Weird thing is she sleeps ok at night which is a blessing I guess !

fatbrows · 22/11/2018 02:07

Me 👋🏼
Also just a jacked up schedule been waiting in bed since 12 to fall asleep but it didn't work. I should try again in a few minutes

HJWT · 22/11/2018 02:09

Now he's snoring ???? HE NEVER SNORES !!! Can I kick him or is that really bad ? 😂😂😂

@NameChangeToAvoidBeingFound I feel you!! I'm on a 3 week detox before we go away! I'm so fat I could feed a small village 🤪 unfortunately for me Iv never really given two sh*ts about my weight or what other people think about it... to be fair though I don't look as heavy as what I am! Saying all that Iv just eaten some Pringles because I'm so hungry

@Jogs15 aw bless her! I remember those days when they just sit there and smile ! My DD refuses to nap now! When she gets tired she just throws her toys Grin

Can you poke him really hard or roll him over? My dh is the same and used to drive me mad when dc were young and awake at night!

fatbrows · 22/11/2018 02:14

Good trick for snorers is pull their pillow. They adjust their head if they're already on their side or they will turn their head if not turned already.

HJWT · 22/11/2018 02:15

@Kahlua4me I was making loud short screams for a while (it's a noise our DD makes when we pretend to be asleep) and he was waking up but he must be in a deep sleep now as it stopped working ! Hence the snoring haha!

Kahlua4me · 22/11/2018 02:18

Very frustrating to listen to when you are awake! Try pulling his pillow as fatbrow says, that seems like a good idea.

HJWT · 22/11/2018 02:19

@Kahlua4me Iv pulled his pillow! He has turned over and now snoring quietly 👏🏻

fatbrows · 22/11/2018 02:21

Let's just pretend I don't exist 😂😂

NameChangeToAvoidBeingFound · 22/11/2018 02:23

@HJWT not mean or U to kick him Grin usually I don't care and I am incredibly body positive and confident in how I look but whenever it's late melancholy sets in. I think that as I'm only 23 (almost 24) and weigh double the healthy body weight for my height that I want to lose weight and improve my health NOW, if I make positive changes ASAP I'll have a healthier and longer life, maybe do better dating and find it easier to have kids when I want them.

Kahlua4me · 22/11/2018 02:26

Glad it worked, excellent suggestion fatbrows. I will try it on my dh next time he is snoring.

Currently he is very quiet, just annoying as he is sleeping and I am not....

fatbrows · 22/11/2018 02:28

@Kahlua4me I know, mines been sleeping next to me for 2 hours now and we had an agreement to wake up at the same time.
I've grown used to his snoring but if it's bad enough he actually hears me even when he's asleep if I ask him to stop snoring

HJWT · 22/11/2018 02:34

@fatbrows haha sorry!! Thank you for the tip... I better suggestion though would for me to push him out the bed 😂😂😂

@NameChangeToAvoidBeingFound the only plan I can stick to is slimming world... I can eat healthy all day as long as Iv got a few chocolates or a pack of crisps at the end of the day !! Iv got a high BMI and wanted to lose weight before we get pregnant again next year but knowing I will have gestational diabetes and won't let my self eat anything not healthy once I see those 2 lines I can't bring myself to stop eating rubbish until then!!

Poor you to still be awake when he is still sleeping so peacefully.

I am awake as stupidly had a coffee at a friends house at 8pm knowing that it would stop me sleeping! I fell asleep early but then woke with a start at 1 and am now wide awake!

HJWT · 22/11/2018 02:37

It's almost been 2 hours and DD is still awake watching the iPad like she's a teenager 🍷

OP posts:
HJWT · 22/11/2018 02:38

@Kahlua4me I had to stop drinking coffee, I used to drink a cup around lunch time as I was so tired and it would wake me up but then I wouldn't sleep at night no matter how hard I would try!!

Has anyone ever tried any of those sleep apps they advertise everywhere these days?

Slimming world is a great way to lose weight. I have found that it’s easier to maintain than others as you never seem to feel as though you are dieting.

NameChangeToAvoidBeingFound · 22/11/2018 02:41

@HJWT think I’m gonna go with veg loading, low carbs and low sugar. Think the main problem is my irregular eating times. Like now because I can’t sleep I got out of bed and I’m making chocolate porridge because I’m cold, bored and need a distraction. Thankfully I’ll be able to keep it for tomorrow morning instead of eating it now. Hopefully your baby will be asleep soon enough, if it’s any consolation at least she’s quiet 😂

fatbrows · 22/11/2018 02:42

Funny enough coffee puts my mum to sleep. I'm going to try to sleep again. I just bought a crib, I think that's my cue to get away from my phone screen, who knows what other impulse buys I might make.

Good luck OP with your daughter. Make sure you have night shift on on the tablet to avoid as much blue light as possible. That will only wake her up more and delay her being able to fall back asleep. Your husband should thank me for the pillow trick, or he would find himself face flat on the floor!!

Kahlua4me · 22/11/2018 02:43

Haven’t seen any sleep apps so will have a look tomorrow. My sleep seems to be ok as long as I don’t have caffeine in the evenings.

My ds was a really really bad sleeper when he was young so perhaps I have just got used to being awake overnight now so have no urge to sleep. He didn’t sleep through until he was nearly 6. He would wake up several times and was always up ready to play by 5am!

He is now a teenager so is sleeping more and more.....

fatbrows · 22/11/2018 02:45

Goodnight guys and good luck to all of us. Hope we don't sleep too late and hope the hubby doesn't kill me for buying the crib
