Hi all
I'm hoping someone can help me.. I'm losing the plot!
My almost 5 month old daughter just won't sleep in her Moses basket at the moment. Literally as soon as she hits the mattress she's awake and very distressed.
About 4 nights ago this started, I have had to resort to co sleeping but really don't want to do this. She will fall asleep happily while feeding or being held and appear to be in a deep sleep but once transferred wakes almost instantly.
Would really appreciate some help with this Sad
TIA x

This may be random but does she have a flower name?

There's usually a sleep regression around 4 months could be she's hitting it a bit later? Was she born on time or early?

LittleBirdBlues · 21/11/2018 23:20

What you describe sounds very common sadly! My son will easily fall adlddp on me but ain't be put down in his cot without waking. The four month sleep regression could be playing a role too.

I did wonder about the moses basket though. How big is your DD? Mine had outgrown the basket by 6 weeks so 5 months seems a long time! Of the basket is getting a bit too snug she might be trying to stretch in it and hitting her arms and legs on the sides, causing her to wake.

@LittleBirdBlues my first born was same length as Moses basket at 4 weeks 😂 my son still has loads of length at 9 weeks, still gonna move him to his next to me at the weekend though, he's only settled with me holding his hand the last few nights

@LittleBirdBlues her Moses basket is quite big, about the same size as a next2me crib so she hasn't quite outgrown it yet!

She's 5 months tomorrow and wondered whether it could be her teeth and that's why she just wants to be close to me rather than sleep in her crib?

I don't know but I just found it strange how one night she was fine and the next all of a sudden she cried every time she was put down in there.

Thank you for the advice x

@DwangelaForever I guess it could be a sleep regression Sad
She was 5 days early so not sure if that would make a difference x

@PsychicPam what do you mean by a flower name?

Sounds like a sleep regression. My daughter is the same. She won’t stay in a deep sleep any more so it’s hard to move her into her crib. I’m mostly co sleeping and hoping it will improve.

are you able to put her down while she is still sleepy and rock the Moses or use white noise to get her to drop off?
