Room sharing with 18 month old

Due to work being done on our house our DS 18 months old is still on our bedroom with us. He is in his own cot bed over the other side of the room, and we all sleep brilliantly.
He goes to bed and we say night night and leave the room and he goes to sleep on his own and doesn't wake during the night.
My worry is are we causing a problem or issue for when he's older and has to move into his own room?

I wouldn't have thought so because you leave the room and he goes to sleep and stays asleep does he even know you've come back? You could do a slow transition to new room. We've still got baby in with us he's 14 months
