Why is he doing this?

Like clock work, my 7 month old is waking at 130am and screaming the house down for hours. He's not hungry and refuses milk, doesn't need nappy changed, room temp is fine, I bring him into my bed and he just lays there smacking me in the face so a refuse to bed share. Picking him up temporarily stops the crying but he just starts again straight after, therefore I am having to leave him to cry as nothing is working, it can go on for over an hour. I'm at my wit's end. If bed sharing worked I would do it but it doesn't.
I don't know what to do. My DD never did this.

Oh gosh sounds terrible
I have a little one who won’t bed share either so the whole
Oh just co sleep doesn’t work!
How many naps is he on? Night waking can be a sign of needing to dropp a nap?
Is he doing anything new could just be devolpemental and he will stop soon hopefully!
Could he be teething? Have u tried some calpol when he wakes?
Does he go to sleep himself at night?

Reflux pain?

Namechangemum100 · 19/11/2018 19:06

@cream123 I really don't know. He has been on two naps a day now for a couple of weeks and seems to be doing well with it. He has a 30 minute car nap in the morning on the way to a baby group (I also have a 22 month old), and then he naps again at 1230-230. Bedtime is 630 where he goes to seem by himself, has been a great self settler from birth.
He's already cut his first 2 teeth and they are most of the way through, so I don't think they are bothering him.
Bed sharing is a nightmare, neither of my babies have been comforted by it, if anything it wakes them more. It's so frustrating to not have a simple solution like that because I would do it in a second. Last night we ended up leaving him to it because nothing was working. He cried for an hour (I went in a couple of times), and then finally gave in and slept until morning. It's very frustrating, thank God my toddler seems to be sleeping through it...so far! 🤞

@autumnleaves19 I don't think it's reflux. Last night he had a bottle at 10 and then the crying started at 130am. He had reflux as a newborn and was on randitidine but that seems to have long gone.

He is cmpa and on neocate so I know it's not milk bothering him either.

I don't know if 1.30am like clockwork is necessarily teething, but just to say that my little one seems to show more pain with his teeth before you can actually see anything. Like they're shifting deep inside the gum. If you haven't tried calpol yet maybe give it a go x

Reflux flares up with teething as the saliva changes. We used infant Gaviscon for flare ups and found it helped

We also used carobel in neocate. Do you use a thickener?
