Bedding confusion - help!

First baby due in a couple of months so I need to hit the shops - but I don't know what bedding to buy!! On advice from others, planning to swaddle in Moses basket to start with then maybe grobag in cot later (though I know I'll have to wait and see!). If I do this, what other bedding do I need to buy?

All you really need is some mattress sheets (for whatever she will be sleeping in).

I bought tons of blankets, sheets etc before my DS was born - he went in a grobag after about 2 weeks and I had to take most of the bedding back as we were just not going to use it.

May want to have a blanket or 2 though for naps - I don't put DS in his grobag for naps so I do use a blanket to cover him with.

i second this advice.

Try to get genuine Grobags as they have a range of tog ratings, the cheaper ones you can get in supermarkets etc are usually all 2.5 tog. Our house is quite warm and ds has never needed anything more than a 1.0 tog, with vest and sleepsuit in winter, and just vest in summer.

You can still use Grobags in a moses basket. our ds was super wriggly and always managed to unswaddle himself from an early age.

some mattress sheets for the moses basket, cot, etc and a couple of cellular blankets for using at nap time, etc My ds also wears a grobag at night but just a blanket in the daytime

Thanks! Sounds like you've saved me a bit of money in bedding!

someone here suggested using pillowcases as sheets for the moses basket - fab idea
