13 month old nursing all night!

I've co-slept with my little boy since soon after he was born -- only way we could all get sleep. We tried letting him cry at around 8 months and pretty soon decided it wasn't for us.
For the last month or so, he has suddenly taken to his cot. He now goes straight to sleep in his cot both for naps and at night at 8 pm with not even a whimper. However, he now wakes up at midnight, screams until he is nursed, then wakes again at least every 90 minutes, sometimes more frequently, to scream and nurse again throughout the night.
Sometimes I take him back to bed with me, sometimes I put him back in the cot -- either way he is nursing nearly none stop until dawn.
I am TIRED. I want my bed back. I know he doesn't need to nurse so often in the night. I also want to stop nursing (our child was conceived by IVF, we want to try for another but can't until this one is weaned).

I would so much appreciate any ideas on how to help him sleep through the night or at least accept a midnight feed and then go back to sleep again.

Thank you!
