Is there such a thing as too much?

I have a 19 month old DS and a 5 month old DS. The older one has just started nursery and also transitioned from 2 naps to 1. But what he seems to be doing is limping the morning nap onto the afternoon nap so is taking a much longer nap. Up until now I've just been letting him sleep as long as he wants thinking he must be tired with nursery and and it's not interfering with his night time sleep. He goes to nursery 8am to 12pm Monday Wednesday and Friday. The reason for my question is that he is really REALLY grumpy in the afternoons when he gets up. Is this a result of too much sleep? Or just because of the nap transition, or settling into nursery or something else? I have no idea if I should continue as I am or cut his nap down. For info he used to sleep an hour in the morning then 2 hours in the afternoon. He now sleeps 3 hours in the afternoon. Thanks if you made it to the end of this......

My DD napped for that long quite regularly until recently and she's over 2. So I'm sure it's fine. Enjoy the peace! One day he'll drop the nap and then you'll have something to worry about

Thank you. Well I'm finding it hard going from 2 to 1 so god only knows how I'll manage when there's none at all!!
