Baby feeds to sleep and toddler won't self settle

My 3 year old still wakes 3 times a night. She was breastfed for 17months and would fall asleep feeding. Since I stopped feeding naps had to be in the car or push chair and at night she would fall asleep to me reading stories, which she still does.

I also now have a 10 month old who is breastfed and falls asleep feeding. I'm worried she's following the same bad sleep habits. It's extremely difficult to know what to do or how to go about it when the girls share a room and are incredibly noisy when they wake. My baby feeds every 2-3 hours and I get to her quick out of fear for waking my toddler. Any ideas on how I can get my toddler to settle without me having to sit in the room, and how to stop my baby feeding for comfort/habit? Thank you

Could DD1 have a sleepover at someone else's house (granny or auntie?) for 3 nights so that you can help DD2 learn how to self settle.

I really can't see how you can make the transition from feeding to sleep to self settling without having a few evenings where DD2 makes a noise because you've removed the boob.

Unless you put them both to bed at the same time and try reading them a story together but I do think DC2 will probably cry the first few times you withhold the boob directly before sleep.
