Sleep on fleece?

Would it be ok to put a (proper) fleece into dd's cot for sleeping on, do you think? She has one in her pram and seems to love it.

I would have thought it too springy and easily breathable (iyswim) to contribute to cot death but ....

nope
fleece is all synthetic, it's not cotton so won't "breathe'

well I wouldn't myself

I wouldn't.....stayed at my mums a few weeks ago and she put a fleece undersheet thing on as thought it would make matress softer for us and DH and I sweated like whores in church the whole night!!!

This is a real fleece (ie, came off a sheep), not a synthetic fleecy underblanket thingy.

We got it for DS1 in the States where they are v popular, and have dug it out again for dd 7 years later.

I've used one in my ds's cot since day one and he loves it. They're really popular in Australia as well and me and my sisters all slept on them as children. But I think that the relevant SIDS organisation here (sids.org.uk) recommends against using them, so you may want to take that into account.
