Hi
So my 9and a bit month old boy in the last week or so had decided not to nap.
When he hit 8ish month he finally linked his sleep cycles and was doing 1 hour in am and 1hr-1.45min nap in pm he mostly had dropped third nap.horray I thought !!! Occasionally if others were shorter we squeezed in a late catnap in the car .
Suddenly he is now napping only 30-40 in am and afternoon. Today was only 20mins.he is exhausted by 445 but if let him sleep more than about 10mins this late then his bedtime goes v wrong
He is so active when awake literally doesn't stop crawling ,climbing up and crushing. He doesn't have any quiet time as much as I try!! .so he really need time the sleep
When he wakes from naps he is so cranky and wants to go back .only way he sometimes can is if I get straight in car .but I'm so tired I don't always feel safe driving ,I've had to pull over to rest as so sleepy recently! The pram doesn't work as well anymore as a light sleeper.
I know it will change again but any suggestions would be great.
We have done cc with him after a horrendous 4 month regression.
So he can self settle and does most if the time.if he sound distressed we will comfort him If needed
Awake time in am is around 2 5hrs then up to 3hous before next then depending on how long nap is avty that !! bedtime 7 can go till 6ish for feed but out him back down to 7

Very tired mum ,I have no help in day so would like to get some time to nap myself/pretend to do house work!! any suggestions would be great
Thanks

Hi. Sounds normal. Mine does this off and on, just developmental stuff.

Mine has slept through 3 times in her life and normally wakes up 3 times a night so it's good you get nearly a full night! Maybe try going to bed earlier if you're tired in the day?

He'll grow out if it.

Exactly same happened here at 9 months stupid 8-10 month regression!

. I used to have to wake him from every single nap before and then overnight he started doing small 20 mins max in am and 45 in pm. Some days he only managed 12 mins in am !!!!! He was Very upset and cranky! And crying when woke

It’s taken ages but he’s finally just started after 2 Months doing them right! I ended up doing a lot of car rides to fit in a 3rd nap so he wasn’t too overtired by bedtime and going in when he woke to pat him sometimes so he went back. I sometimes left him to whinge a few mins too and he occasionally went back...some days he did just had very little sleep

It did my head in!I had been spoilt to 2 hours plus napping a day and now was getting no time to do anything and he was upset!

Anyway it’s sorted now , wish I hadn’t worried and just rode it out! But you could try patting when he wakes and also car rides if you can face it! And early bed for him if a really bad nap day!

Thanks I know it's pretty normal. Was hoping as 4month regression was do bad he would kindly skip this one !!!
Yeah fine with the car for quick afternoon nap it's the quickest option !!but day time driving for long nap is painful!
I know I had just got used to real naps! Hoping they will return soon enough but as you say will ride it out till then and cry quietly to myself !!!!

Copper we had a bad 4 Months one too. But it was night that we’re awful. So I’m Glad this time was day time which was a problem! Sometimes after a few really bad nap days night did go wrong too but in general they stayed manageable. I’m not looking fwd to the next one seems like he regresses each time!
I never drove him along for long pm nap...but sometimes in am I would plan to go places so could drive him 45mins at least to see a friend etc and plan my day around him sleeping a good nap in car...

It really did my head in! And I cried quietly to myself too!!!! Hope urs doesn’t last as long as mine did!

Thanks I hope so too . Yeah our 4monts was night too he was a rubbish napper then anyway so didn't know any better!!
Hopefully they can both ignore the next regression!!
